Community Project
At New Pathways Academy, all 8th grade students (MYP Year 3) participate in the IB Middle Years Program Community Project. This project promotes student voice, service learning, and real-world action. Throughout the school year, students identify a need in their local or global community, conduct research, and take meaningful action to address it. Each student, or small group of students, is paired with a staff advisor to support them through each phase of the project—from investigation to planning, action, and reflection.
Students explore topics that are personally meaningful, often connecting to their identities, interests, and experiences in the Bronx. Final projects are showcased at NPA's Community Project Exhibition, highlighting the impact our students can make when they lead with empathy and purpose.
